Chapter 1: What is Marine Wire?
Marine wire is an electric wire. It is a kind of wire specifically designed for use in marine electronic devices. The additional features we added made the wire unique and durable.
The marine wire can withstand extremes of temperature and environment more faced explicitly in the marine environment. It can resist wear and tear. We made it specific to withstand the climate moist or dry. We designed it to bear temperature as high as 105°.
We understand the fact that every environment desires special conditions and specialized technologies. We made a wire that has unique features for marine used objects such as boats and ships. For all the electrical wiring of ships, we recommend marine wire.
Chapter 2: How is a Marine Wire constructed?
Marine wire is a copper wire. Now we will describe to you the features used in its construction to make it more specific and reliable.
Copper is known for its high conductivity. We covered copper with an additional covering of tin. So now we call our marine wire tinned copper. The reason we added tin was to make our marine wire corrosion resistant.
In a harsh marine environment, traditional insulation of wire can not work. You can imagine the vibration of your boat. The moist and wet environment you are in. Can you expect a standard cable to survive in such a situation? Exposure to water is a very initial thing leading to explosion and firing. The moist environment is the cause of corrosion.
The temperature change of water is a thing to notice while making a wire. The temperature of the water is different day and night. The marine environment offers extremes of temperatures.
The usual friendly environment of the earth we live in is very smooth. But what marine environment is offering us is very difficult to tackle for an average person. So think about the machines. People always end up using a conventional wiring system in their marine-based devices and objects then later come complaining.
We want you to have complete knowledge about a Marine Wire. The features and specifications it offers, according to the marine environment, are fantastic. Covering the copper wire with tin made our marine wire very durable and efficient.
We made our marine wire highly flexible, keeping its use in mind. While installation, you have to bend the cable accordingly. For this purpose, we have made the marine wire more flexible as compared to ordinary wires. Also, we understand that a boat is under constant motion with vibration and pressure. Keeping in mind this continuous pressure and vibration, we designed our marine wire to withstand it. More specifically, we made our marine wire more finely stranded. This feature provides resistance against vibration. It makes the marine cable very flexible so you can bend it at any angle without thinking of consequences.
We have given specific colors to every type of marine wire, which we’ll explain further.
Chapter 3: What are the types of Marine Wire?
All the types of marine wire have more specific features depending on their area of use. Further, in our guide, we will specify the model details of every kind for better understanding. We are very concerned about the selection of the best type of wire for your use.
|1. Marine Primary Wire (Tinned wire)
|2. Marine Primary Wire (Bare copper)
|3. SAE Primary Wire
|4. Flat Board Cable
|5. Round Boat Cable
|6. Marine Battery Cable

Chapter 4: What are the standards of Marine Wire?
To select a Marine Wire of your need, you need to know the standards of a Marine Wire. We are providing you details so you can have the best experience
UL1007 / UL1569
UL1007: This standard of Marine Wire can withstand temperature up to 80° and 300V.
UL1569: This standard of Marine Wire can withstand temperature up to 105° and 300V.
This standard provides protection. It refers to plastic burning that happens in connectors.
This standard protects against fire. You no longer have to worry about firing incidents. This standard of Marine Wire reduces the risk of firing very effectively.
Chapter 5: What are the features of Marine Wire?
We have added features specifically for marine wire. These advanced features make our Marine wire unique for the marine environment. While modifying the cable, we kept all the problems in mind which are faced by the people working with devices in such situations. All the features fulfill the requirements of the user. You can entirely rely on a marine wire.
Marine Wire vs. Regular Wire
We designed the marine wire for the ease of our customers who belong to a very different environment i.e., marine. As the climate and temperature are different over there, we need to add specific features that are not in a standard wire. We modified the marine wire to meet the standards of the marine environment.
Marine wire gauge sizes are more significant.
Marine wire stranding is very fine. This fine stranding will provide you extreme flexibility. You will be at ease during the installation of the marine wire. Also, your boat is always moving with vibration. To withstand this constant harsh vibration, we added this fine stranding that will keep the cord safe, and you can use it with satisfaction.
Marine wire is tinned, which prevents it from corrosion and to bear the extreme temperatures. Now you can blindly trust the wire and take it to infinite horizons.
Bare or Tinned
Bare copper is resistant to corrosion. But bare copper can not withstand moist and humid environments. Bare copper can not withstand very high temperatures.
Bare copper is less expensive, but its efficiency is not appreciated in the marine environment. A bare copper wire starts to disfigure and become out of order when it is met with water. Bare copper can not cope with temperatures above 100°C.
As the marine environment is harsh, humid, wet with extremes of temperature, we need to have extra protection.
Tin is an alloy. We have covered the copper wire with tin, which provides modified insulation, resistance to corrosion, ability to withstand the humid environment, and extreme temperatures.
Cost of Quality
We are highly concerned about our customer demands. Their need is our priority. We understand the problems you face in day to day handling of your electronic equipment. The modifications we have made in our marine wire can solve all your worries of durability.
We want you to prefer quality. Over the years, we are seeing boat and ship owners complaining about the wiring system they are using. We want you to trust us with quality. Out marine wire is a little costly than the standard wire you have been using over the years.
But we ensure that marine wire is worth it. The cost that you see now will prevent you from future troubles. With all the features that we explained, we are sure you will select a marine wire for your boat or any other marine devices. The marine environment requires a marine cable no matter what.
We have made our marine wire flame resistant. We performed tests on our marine wire to ensure 100% safety. Our marine wire can retard spark. Firing can be a dangerous hazard while installation or even working.
We made our wire to go through some tests in which we expose it to high temperatures and exposed fire. The marine wire has successfully passed the test. You can rely upon a marine wire as it’s safety is guaranteed.
Marine wire produces less smoke when it is burnt. The density of the smoke that marine wire produce is also low. This is an important feature we have added to our marine wire. If under unfortunate conditions there is firing in wire, it produces very less smoke. This feature will prevent panic and hazardous environments.
We performed specific tests on our marine wire to know its efficiency. We on purpose exposed the wiring to fir and burnt it; it produced very less smoke of low density. Thus we are making a promise to ensure your safety. Even in an emergency, the marine wire will help you in every way possible.
Halogen-free marine wire:
We avoided using halogens in the making of marine wire. Halogens are highly reactive species. They include fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine. They are hazardous gases. We wanted the safety of our users, so we made marine wire halogen-free.
Chlorine and fluorine are used in other types of wire, such as PVC (Polyvinyl chloride). But due to their hazards, we avoided its use in the marine wire. We used halogen-free material such as EPR (Ethylene propylene rubber) or XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene). Now marine wire is safe for use.
Marine wire is fire resistant. We have used combustible material in the making of marine wire. It can withstand temperature up to 800°. Marine wire is very resistant to burning, thus making it safe for use. Even if the fire goes on, a marine wire won’t let the light propagate. We have this appreciative feature in our marine wire.
A marine wire does not produce toxic or corrosive substances even when it burns.
A marine wire produces less smoke of low density even when it burns. We have made sure not to use highly reactive halogen gases in the making.
For fire resistance, we have added fireproof mica tape around the tinned copper marine wire. Thus in every way, our marine wire is environment-friendly for the marine environment. Ensuring the fact of global warming, our marine wire does not pollute the marine environment.
Resistant to moisture, acid, alkali, oil.
Chapter 6: What is the Marine wire color code?
First of all, we will explain to you the importance of imparting colors to the marine wire.
We have added colors in the insulation material. The colors of the marine wire help identifying the wire. Colors are attractive and catchy. The workers, while installation or while fixing any problem, can easily detect the wires.
|Yellow or black:
|It is a DC Negative conductor return. It is used in performance in harmful mains.
|Green or green with yellow striped. It is a DC grounding conductor. It is used in bonding systems. It is used in bonding wires only when they are insulated.

Chapter 7: What is Marine wire size and ampacity?
We are here to guide you to select the best marine wire. As we described, every color identified a specific individual wire. Here we will specify the parameters you should keep in mind while selecting a marine wire.
Following are the parameters:
- Voltage drop
Voltage describes the efficiency of a device. If you chose a longer wire, it would lead to a voltage drop. A long wire will waste energy in the form of heat. While selecting a marine wire, to keep the voltage drop in mind. Select a wire with lower internal resistance, less lengthy, and with a larger diameter to prevent maximum voltage drop.
Higher the heat, the lesser the amperage. As the temperature increases, the efficacy to carry current decreases.
Thicker the package, more heat is produced. When wires are combined in a compressed bunch, they tend to produce more heat. And temperature, in turn, decreases the current-carrying ability of a marine wire.
The current carrying capacity of a marine wire depends on its size and temperature. Lesser the heat, less thick the bundle, the large-diameter will maximize the amperage of a marine wire.
Chapter 8: What are the Marine Wire model details?

Chapter 11: What are the precautions of the installation of a Marine Wire?
- Never operate the AC and DC systems together while the installation of a marine wire keeps the AC system off. All types of AC generators and converters are switched off while we install marine wire, which is a DC system.
- While the installation of a marine wire keeps the AC wires separate. You will get confused between AC and DC wiring that will lead to a mishap. Keep the coils of two systems different from each other by keeping any one of them in a bundle
- Do not connect more than four terminals to a stud.
- The terminal of high amperage should be connected first to the stud
- In case of connecting more than four connectors to a stud, join two studs with a jumper. Then add more terminals to the stud.
- The colors we have added to the marine wire is for your convenience. Through tone, you can detect the type of marine wire, and for the purpose, it is used
- Wires can generate magnetic fields around. The magnetic field generated by the marine coil can interfere with the magnetic fields of other instruments. Other instruments such as navigation machine, such devices are magnetically sensitive. To prevent the magnetic field produced by marine wire, keep the marine wire twisted.
- During the installation of marine wire, keep it away from water.
- Prevent heat shrink tubing spaces. Use insulation barriers and sleeves to protect the accidental shortening at the terminal. Terminals are coated with oils, acid-resistant material that will prevent both shortening and corrosion.
- While installation of marine wire, add support after every 18 inches. The boat is always in motion and vibration, which can lead to the flexing of wire. To prevent unnecessary flexing, add support in the form of clamps every 18 inches.
- Watch the color matching during installation. Terminals are color-coded for specific wire gauge.
- The size of the terminal should be the same as the stud.
